TM-Sidhi Programme: a life changing technique

'My name is Dumisani (which means praise) Dladla. I am a second year student at CIDA City Campus, in Johannesburg, South Africa, majoring in finance and investment. I wanted to share the story of the great benefits I received from the practice of Transcendental Meditation in my life.

'I grew up in the township called Soweto in the broken home, raised by a single, struggling mom, who suffered greatly in her life. I experienced all the pain and suffering she went through. All those experiences made me want to search for love.

'I became a problem child, who troubled my mother, because I stopped attending school for almost a year. It was the first time I saw my mother crying. I immediately went back to school and did very well. My desire was to be the greatest and make my mother proud.

'I passed my Matriculation Grade 12 with good grades. No one in my family ever reached grade 12—I was a pioneer. By that time my grandfather had just received a retirement fund from working as a gardener in one of the government schools. He gave me the money to enrol in university where I did chemical engineering for one year, but had no money to go to the next level.

'Then one day I was told about CIDA City Campus— miracle university—which is free. I applied and I was accepted. It was the happiest day of my life. During the first two weeks I was introduced to Transcendental Meditation by Dr Melanie Brown and Dr Taddy Blecher. They spoke about Transcendental Meditation, and it all sounded too good to be true.

'So I learned the technique. It was amazing, out of this world! Three to four months down the line I learned TM-Sidhi Programme. It was remarkable, a life changing technique. I searched for love, peace, and happiness throughout the journey of my life, but through Maharishi's programmes, I have discovered that everything that I was looking for is not outside but within me.

'A roommate, who was also practising Transcendental Meditation, said to me one day, ''I think there might be something wrong with TM. Why does everything become easy, simple, and achievable? I thought life is about working hard.'' And I agreed with him completely that life was becoming so easy.

'One day we were watching Maharishi's video; he was talking about doing less and accomplishing more. Maharishi's explanation validated our experience and made me feel so blissful, that after the lecture I never missed a programme.

'This year I was experiencing some financial difficulties. I wrote letters to people looking for a financial sponsor, and two teachers of Transcendental Meditation came to my rescue. They were a couple that visited CIDA from Fairfield, Iowa, USA. They did not give me money; they supported in every way by giving love always. I never met people who believed in me and wanted to see me get good grades and finish my degree.

'Last year when my birthday was celebrated, Mr Richard Peycke (CIDA founder) bought refreshments and they made wishes for me. This year the CIDA founders phoned me to wish me a happy birthday.

'That was not enough for them. They then invited me to celebrate my birthday with friends. Later after my birthday CIDA students and Mr Jim Turner (staff member) celebrated my birthday. I cried because the love that I have for myself has manifested itself,
and Maharishi gave us a wonderful poem that we recite after programme. Through meditation we spontaneously practise what it says: "Let us be together, let us eat together, let us be radiating truth, radiating the light of life, never shall we denounce any one, never entertain negativity."

'I have travelled the world; I have been chosen many times to represent CIDA and my township, because I have had the real experience and can express it. What I have experienced with Maharishi's programme and CIDA College is love.

‘Transcendental Meditation is the supreme power of all, it works in amazing ways. It develops the fragile, humbles the arrogant, heals pain of life, dispels fear, and liberates the demoralized. Love is a foundation of life, and God is love. He lives within each and every one. There is no other education system that teaches and unfolds in people their greatness, love, God, and compassion.

'Normal education fills peoples brains with knowledge. It treats them like containers and forgets to fill their spirit, the source of everything that is seen and unseen. Transcendental Meditation Programmes forever!’
