Creating coherence and harmony in world consciousness

On 30 October 1983, Maharishi celebrated the rising Age of Enlightenment for the United States in Washington, DC, USA.

He explained that the purpose of Yogic Flyers coming to practise together in a large group was to command the infinite organizing power of Natural Law and create an intensified state of coherence and harmony in world consciousness to bless every nation on earth with peace, prosperity, and all possibilities.

‘Life is intended to be lived from the eternal silence of the Unified Field, which is the lively field of all possibilities,’ he said. ‘With everyone functioning in the outward direction in the past, life was found to be shrouded with problems.
‘With the rising sunshine of the Age of Enlightenment, that kind of unsuccessful living will be transformed into an easy way of living where problems will not exist and all desires will be fulfilled.’

In order to know what needs to be done to secure the Age of Enlightenment for all mankind in the future, Maharishi said that it was important to review how the transformation to the rising sunshine of the Age of Enlightenment took place.

He explained that the Transcendental Meditation Programme opened to every individual the experience of Transcendental Consciousness, unbounded awareness, the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature, as brought to light by modern physics. ‘The mind becomes identified with the Unified Field, the total potential of Natural Law,’ he said, ‘and when such a mind thinks, thoughts proceed in the direction of fulfilment.’

The Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme gives us the ability to function in that Transcendental Consciousness, which is the lively home of all the Laws of Nature. ‘It is the level where individual intelligence assumes the role of Cosmic Intelligence, unbounded awareness, where all possibilities are lively in our conscious mind,’ Maharishi explained.

‘Functioning from the level of all the Laws of Nature, whatever we desire becomes fulfilled without obstruction. That style of functioning is the same kind of functioning that is organizing the infinite diversity of the universe—the functioning of Nature. This will be life worthy of the Age of Enlightenment.’

Maharishi said that everyone should practise the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme in order that the collective consciousness of the nation can be a lively field of all possibilities. ‘It is the responsibility of this most creative country in the world [the United States] to create and maintain an integrated national consciousness and radiate a powerful influence of positivity in world consciousness.’

This now requires 8,000 individuals—the square root of 1% of the world’s population—collectively practising this programme together to bring about harmony and peace in world consciousness.

Maharishi went on to explain that the skill of administration of society lies in raising the level of collective consciousness—creating the ground for all the divergent human tendencies to remain in perfect accordance with the evolutionary power of Nature.

‘Unified Field-based life will be capable of maintaining that absolute harmony on the ground of which no wrong or negative tendencies will ever arise in the world,’ he said.

The discovery of the Unified Field has given rise to a far more simple and powerful description of reality whereby all the forces and particles of Nature are self-contained in a completely unmanifest field of intelligence located at the point value of Natural Law. ‘The point value of creation can be located anywhere,’ Maharishi said, ‘so the total potential of Natural Law, the Unified Field, is everywhere. This is the level from where Nature functions.

‘The ability of self-referral performance developing through the Transcendenal Meditation Sidhi Programme gives the individual the spontaneous computing power of Nature by which Nature flawlessly solves all problems and conducts the infinite variety of activity in the universe.

By harnessing that infinite organizing power of Nature, the individual enjoys effortless fulfilment of every desire.
‘The projection of a desire from that level is evolutionary right from its inception and generates an evolutionary influence in the environment to produce maximally evolutionary results.’

With the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme one does not have to depend on anyone else, because this programme trains the conscious mind to function from within itself so that every desire is projected by the infinite organizing power of Nature and receives its full support.

‘The individual of today has a different status,’ Maharishi continued. ‘He is a cosmic individual capable of influencing the whole world with every thought, word, and action. Through the Technology of the Unified Field [the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme], the tenderness of our thinking and feeling is spontaneously developing to such a high level of richness that everything in the universe is nourished by us.

‘Through the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme one experiences those fine, tender emotions in the settled state of consciousness. The experience of very fine fabrics of activity opens to awareness the self-referral performance of Nature in the Unified Field. When life is lived on the basis of the Unified Field, everything everywhere will be brilliant.’
