Creativity flourishes at Maharishi School

Blossoming of creativity naturally results from the practice of Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Programme as evidenced over and over again in competitions involving young meditating students.

Adding to a long list of annual awards and championships earned by Maharishi School students worldwide, student at Maharishi School in Lathom, England, Jed O’Connor, recently received recognition for his poetry. The Poetry Society’s Norman Hidden Prize for Youth members was given to Jed for his poem entitled ‘Dizziness’ in which he successfully conveyed his experience to the reader. Jed was 14 when he wrote the poem. The competition was open to students as old as 18, so Jed did incredibly well.

In addition to receiving international poetry prizes, Maharishi School students in Lathom have also impressively gained membership to the National Association of Gifted and Talented Youth.

Students from Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, also repeatedly demonstrate their creativity winning photography awards; theatre and speech competitions; the Young Writer of the Year Award; grand prize in the Congressional Art Competition, ‘An Artistic Discovery,’ three years running; and the world championship in Destination Imagination (a creative problem-solving competition) three times as well as more top ten finishes than any school in the world.

By tapping into the infinite reservoir of creativity and intelligence experienced through the process of transcending, these fortunate students and all practitioners of Transcendental Meditation Technique enjoy the growth of these qualities in their lives.

One young woman, who graduated from Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment and Maharishi University of Enlightenment, expresses that she enjoys the flow of creativity and energy in her activity which come from her practice. And an established artist simply says, ‘I love my Transcendental Meditation. As an artist it is extremely valuable because it provides me with a constant flow of creativity.’
