Maharishi's global plan for peace and prosperity Fifty years ago His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, while traveling in south India, had the simple thought to bring ‘the blessings of the Himalayas to the people’. Coming from the Himalayas, Maharishi was deeply immersed in the knowledge and experience of unbounded bliss consciousness, the inner Nature of life. Observing the discrepancy between what he knew, and the condition of suffering he saw around him, Maharishi responded to the need of the time. He began to teach the Transcendental Meditation Technique to give the experience of unbounded bliss consciousness, the Self, the Light of God, to all the people of the world, and he always gave credit for his achievements to his beloved Master, His Divinity Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Bhadarikashram, Himalayas. In the book, Thirty Years Around the World: Dawn of the Age of Enlightenment, Maharishi explained his motivation in 1957 to spiritually regenerate the world: ‘If one peaceless and miserable man of the world could be made peaceful and happy, it would mean something of value, positive, and concrete, for the suffering humanity. If a formula could be brought to light, a formula for transforming peacelessness and miseries of life into peace and joy of a permanent nature, that would be a boon to society and for the whole of mankind. Here we find that great boon, by the grace of Shri Guru Deva.’ Now, fifty years later, the world is stepping onto the fulfilment of Maharishi’s plan to spiritually regenerate the world and to eradicate suffering, war, and problems— replacing them with peace, prosperity, and fulfilment. This may sound too good to be true, but the knowledge, technologies, and programmes are already in place and beginning to accomplish the goal in a surprisingly simple way. What is bringing success to such all-encompassing goals is the extraordinary coming together of modern science with ancient Vedic Science and its technologies. Throughout the ages, men of compassion have wanted to end world suffering. But they did not have the technologies to reach the world’s population; and they did not have a systematic and complete scientific knowledge that could implement the change. Now, in this age, when technology has advanced to connect the world in one great communication network; and when scientific theory—in particular the quantum field theory of physics—has recognized one underlying Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature, the soil of the modern world is well-prepared to receive the seeds of ancient Vedic wisdom of how to live life in harmony, freedom, and fulfilment—free from suffering. Teaching in the language of his time, the language of science, Maharishi has re-enlivened the ancient Vedic Science of Total Knowledge, presenting it in its completeness, systematically and scientifically. Veda means knowledge, complete knowledge. Maharishi’s Vedic Science, the science of consciousness, presents Total Knowledge of the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature—the same laws that administer the entire universe in an orderly, harmonious, and evolutionary manner. The ancient Vedic seers owned this secret knowledge of how to know and gain support of all the Laws of Nature, cognizing this supreme truth within the silent depths of their own consciousness. They passed this wisdom of reality down from teacher to student throughout the long history of time. It is the great good fortune of this generation, that Maharishi is now making this knowledge available to everyone, from all walks of life and from all cultural traditions, thus changing the trends of life from suffering and problems, to fulfilled life in accord with Natural Law. Maharishi’s Vedic Science includes ancient technologies to directly experience the Unified Field and to tap its infinite intelligence and organizing power for integrating the harmonious, blissful, divine Nature of inner life with the outer materialistic world. These Technologies of the Unified Field are known as Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. With these techniques for directly experiencing the Unified Field of Consciousness at the source of thought, Maharishi’s Vedic Science is equipped to bring the perfect integration of inner unity with outer diversity—the integration of inner orderliness, intelligence, bliss, and Total Knowledge of Natural Law with the most dynamic level of thought and action. By enlivening complete knowledge of Natural Law, Maharishi’s Technologies of the Unified Field serve as a powerful instrument for Total Natural Law to administer life on Earth so that problems no longer arise. Partial knowledge of isolated Laws of Nature is now giving way to holistic knowledge, which spontaneously nourishes all aspects of life simultaneously. The outstanding result is that now every area of life—government, defence, education, health, architecture, agriculture, and business—is becoming Vedic, or in other words, in tune with total Natural Law. Through Maharishi’s programmes, people everywhere are aligning their speech and action with Natural Law, the Light of God, thus setting their life on the smooth path of success, peace, prosperity, health, and happiness.
