In a recent press conference, Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace and President of Maharishi University of Management,
explained the deep gap in understanding between Maharishi's understanding about Veda—the Constitution of the Universe—and a current dictionary definition of Veda.
Dr Morris said that Maharishi defines the Veda as 'nitya' and 'apaurusheya', two Vedic expressions that define Veda. 'Nitya' means eternal
and 'apaurusheya' means uncreated. So Veda is not a human invention.
Veda is the totality of the Laws of Nature that exist throughout the entire
expanse of creation and beyond. They are not made up at a certain time, any
more than the laws of Physics are made up at a certain time. Newton didn't
invent the Law of Gravity, he cognized that there was one!
It's the same with Veda. It is always there in the transcendental field,
vibrating, humming, for anyone to experience who could get to that level of
consciousness. Veda is the origin or source of all the specific Laws of
Nature in all the different fields of science that are in turn responsible
for all the particles and forces that make up our body and the whole
universe.
Due to invasions of India at different times, interpretations were placed on the Veda by scholars who had a different understanding about the age and
history of the universe. They came with a Western perspective of the Veda,
which is not the correct viewing lens through which to see the reality of
Veda.
Veda was known by the Rishis (enlightened seers) by cognition; no one ever
made up these sounds; they experienced them in deep Transcendental
Consciousness. The Rishis heard the humming of these sounds in the
transcendental field, and they were then passed on from generation to
generation over thousands of years in India, by an oral tradition. This is
the Vedic tradition of pure knowledge maintained by the Vedic families of
Pandits over the long corridor of time, which UNESCO proclaimed in 2003 as a
'Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity'.
The Vedic sounds were experienced as the eternal, self-expressed reality of
the basic field of creation in which is embodied all the power and
intelligence that gives rise to all streams of intelligence and to their
expression in the whole universe. This level of experience is accessible to any individual through developing their experience by the practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying.
This is the key point for the education of a brilliant, shining new
leadership of the world. Enlightened young leaders of the world will gain
this experience of the totality of Natural Law from which the universe
emerges; and with this experience and understanding in the youth of the
world, we have a completely bright future for the whole human race.
