The programme began with offering gratitude to the Vedic Tradition, the most ancient tradition of Total Knowledge on earth, which has guided and will continue to guide countless generations to the light of pure knowledge within the Self of everyone. Thereafter, students performed inspiring skits and presented melodious songs, including the words: Jab se hui hai bhagya se humko Sadguru ki pahchan. The boys of class VIII presented Guru Naman, followed by a speech by Anshu Pathak of class V, which began with a beautiful quotation - Mati mein ho samta, hridaya mein vishalta, guru par ho prasannata, jeewanrahe mahakta. A group song presented by the students of the primary wing—Guru Purnima hai aaj, Guru ko naman Karen—mesmerized one and all. Senior teacher V K Singh defined the word ‘Guru.’ In his address, Principal Dr S N Rai presented his ideas on Guru Mahima. Thereafter, Deepti Mayeejal and Akshay Yadav presented a song. Abhimanyu Guhe played the Hansdhwani Raag on violin, which was appreciated by everyone. Each school day at Maharishi Vidya Mandir begins and ends with group practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme. The students gain a natural inner peace; they become more receptive to knowledge; they exhibit greater alertness; and they radiate bliss and friendliness to their classmates and their teachers. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, tens of thousands of students of Maharishi's schools across India wrote letters to Maharishi, in gratitude for the profound education they have received under his guidance. © Copyright 2006, Global Good News(sm) Service |
