Global Mother Divine Congress addresses Consciousness-Based Education
Total Knowledge for enlightenment and bliss

During the the First International Congress of the Global Mother Divine organization, held in Maharishi Nagar, Vedic City, USA, a Raj Rajeshwari (administrator) of the Global Country of World Peace presented the goals of the Council of Education to be established in each of the 192 countries of the world. Following is a transcript of this presentation:

'Every lady is a mother in the most exalted sense of the word. The true inner nature of every mother is that she is Mother Divine. Mother's role in any and every circumstance is to nourish, nourish, and nourish; it is to give, give, and give. For this every mother has to know how to nourish herself, so that she is in a position of overflowing fullness with others.

'This is true for every mother, as an individual, in any role. In the role of mother, we know that mother is the first teacher and all learning begins on the lap of mother. Being in that vital role it is important for every mother to have Total Knowledge for her own fulfillment and to impart Total Knowledge to her children so that every generation grows up living their full potential and knowing how to live a mistake-free life in freedom, enlightenment, and bliss.

'Whether a mother has a small family or the world is her family and she has 6.5 billion children, she has to have Total Knowledge for total peace, prosperity, happiness, and wisdom. Only with Total Knowledge can she be totally nourishing.'

To ensure that every mother has Total Knowledge, it was explained that the International Foundation of Consciousness-Based Education for Mothers of Every Generation has been legally established as a non-profit organization and has been:


* developing Consciousness-Based curriculum materials
* providing Faculty Development materials
* giving the details for establishing universities and schools
* developing Consciousness-Based courses for adult and on-line education
* providing Guidelines for education projects in existing schools
* developing promotional materials and a website
* establishing an agency for accreditation and certification of Consciousness-Based Education schools and universities.

In addition, the International Foundation has identified key Steps of Action for starting schools. These include the steps to:


* Meet local legal and licensing requirements
* Find Land and Buildings
* Publicize Consciousness-Based Education and Recruit Students
* Hire and train the Principal and teachers

A national weekend has also been developed with step-by step details of how to proceed in taking these steps of action. This weekend has proven to be very successful in starting the process of establishing a school.

The materials for each step are available through the national education director for each country.

'It is important to know why we are starting our own Consciousness-Based Education schools,' the Mother Divine administrator explained. 'It is true that adding Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying to existing schools is a quick way to create Invincibility for the nation. Yet, for Total Knowledge to have a permanent home and to ensure that it continues generation after generation, we need to create our own Invincibility Schools and Invincible Universities.

'Also Consciousness-Based Education schools have many unique features and benefits in addition to the practice of Transcendental Meditation as part of the school's curriculum.'

Providing Total Knowledge for Every Student, and Invincibility for the Nation
In general, Consciousness-Based Education offers an approach to education that has proven to be uniquely effective in developing the intellectual abilities, academic performance, social behavior, and inner happiness of the students; and to benefit the society as a whole.

The Global Mother Divine administrator said that there are four main features of Consciousness-Based Education validated by 40 years of experience worldwide, hundreds of scientific research studies, and exceptional educational outcomes:


(1) Courses on consciousness
(2) Study of the standard subjects in light of the knowledge of consciousness
(3) Consciousness-Based teaching techniques that make learning easy and fulfilling.
(4) Stress-free, healthful atmosphere.

A few details of these four unique features of Consciousness-Based Education are:


(1) Courses on consciousness
Students practise the Transcendental Meditation Programme and its advanced techniques, including Yogic Flying, twice daily at school, and experience Transcendental Consciousness, which is the field of Total Knowledge, the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature, the Self of the student.

Students also study the field of consciousness, the field of Total Knowledge, through a course that gives them deeper understanding of their own unlimited potential and helps them see the unifying principles in nature.

(2) Study of the standard subjects in light of the knowledge of consciousness. Students take the usual subjects—mathematics, science, language, social sciences, sports, the arts, writing, computer skills, etc.

The unique feature is that the main points of each lesson are related to the knowledge of the full development of consciousness. Connecting the discipline to the student's full potential gives each field of study deeper meaning for the students and makes the knowledge more relevant to their daily life.

(3) Consciousness-Based teaching techniques that make learning easy and fulfilling. One of the most effective instructional techniques is the use of large wall charts on which each main point of the lesson is shown in context of the whole subject and the student's own full development.

In addition, students assimilate the knowledge easily and effortlessly through frequent reviews, with a review at the end of each lesson, each day, each week, each month, each quarter, and each year making the learning process a real celebration of Total Knowledge.

(4) Stress-free, healthful atmosphere. Consciousness-Based schools emphasize a healthful environment and stress-free routine, which help to balance silence and dynamism; one aspect of this is that there are no large homework assignments.

The school buildings are fortune-creating [in accord with the principle of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda] and bring an influence of vitality and clarity to the occupants. Classrooms are all on the east side of the building, with beautiful, soft decor, and have upholstered soft chairs for each student.

The meals are fresh, pure, nutritious, organic vegetarian. In addition, it has been found that girls thrive in their own schools. Extensive experience and research show that when boys and girls are educated separately, they focus on learning more easily, perform at higher academic levels, more readily develop leadership and self-esteem, work more cooperatively, and gain confidence in a wider range of subjects.

When they also practise Transcendental Meditation, they develop their unique abilities and talents, and come to feel at home with everyone and everything. The atmosphere in the school, due to the practice of Transcendental Meditation by everyone in the school, spontaneously radiates peace, harmony, and alertness—an ideal atmosphere for learning and growth. This atmosphere extends to the community at large and if the square root of one per cent of the population is practicing Yogic Flying together in the school, scientific research has repeatedly found that the students can create an invincible nation

In fact scientific research and student performance document the effectiveness of Consciousness-Based Education. Findings relevant to education and the nourishing role of mothers include reduced stress and anxiety; fewer rule infractions; increased self-esteem; improved general health; increased tolerance and appreciation; increased capacity for warm interpersonal relationships; increased friendliness; growth of a more sympathetic, helpful, and caring nature; increased sensitivity to the feelings of others; growth of a more tactful, forgiving, and agreeable nature; increased good humour, and increased field independence (less easily influenced by others).

Perhaps the single most important scientific finding is that of developing total brain functioning. Conventional education, through study of isolated areas of knowledge without the wholeness of Total Knowledge, activates only isolated areas of the brain. In contrast, the Transcendental Meditation Technique through the experience of Transcendental Consciousness—the field of Total Knowledge—activates the entire brain, as shown in increased EEG coherence (orderliness) of brain functioning. High levels of EEG coherence during Transcendental Meditation are correlated with higher creativity, higher intelligence, greater efficiency in learning, higher academic achievement, and more principled moral reasoning. Every thing good about the brain depends on its level of coherence.

Not surprisingly the result is outstanding student performance. Students in Consciousness-Based schools perform at the top level of state and national examinations, and consistently win top prizes in all areas of study.

For mothers there are two added unique features
For all students, for the university curriculum there are 12 areas of study, 12 faculties. These are all studied in the light of synthesizing all 12 areas of study from their diverse level of knowledge to the unified level of knowledge in the Unified Field, the field of Total Knowledge, and then diverging from there back out to the more specified diverse levels of the areas of study. Through this process of synthesis and analysis Total Knowledge is gained.

The two added features for mothers are:


1. The emphasis of study for each of the 12 faculties is on the knowledge mothers need to develop and maintain enlightenment in their families, generation after generation.

Total Knowledge provides the knowledge and experience for each area of study, so that each area of life is nourishing to both the student and her surroundings.

2. In the study of each discipline, the noble nourishing quality of the Veda in Mothers is emphasized.

Five areas of knowledge
Development of consciousness, education, culture, health, and music are being presented in this Congress. We can look at a few examples from the other faculties to get a little hint of these special features. For example:

AGRICULTURE: The mother learns the importance of providing nourishing, pure, fresh, organic food for the family and for herself so she can be nourishing.

ADMINISTRATION: Mother learns the principles of problem-free management that she will need on a daily basis

ECONOMY: Mother realizes that in her essential nature she is Lakshmi [administering intelligence of Natural Law in the area of wealth] and teaches the children that affluence is the natural state of life.

ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING: Mother knows the importance of having the home in a fortune-creating building and she knows where to put each item of furniture, where to have which function, how to plant the garden, etc., to create the most nourishing influence for the family.

DEFENCE: Mother learns that as mother at home, having Total Knowledge, she has the power to raise the next generation of leaders to be able to prevent the birth of an enemy and avert the danger before it arises.

COMMUNICATION: Mother learns the latest information technologies so that having the world on her desktop she can do everything easily and have time to nourish herself through the practice of her Transcendental Mediation and TM-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.

SUPREME POLITICAL SCIENCE—INVINCIBILITY AND WORLD PEACE: The mother learns that she will exhibit that noble quality of nourishment in every interaction just as a great leader appreciates the good qualities of his followers. The mother is raising the leaders of the future and in the future all leaders will be established in Total Knowledge.

And finally, RELIGION AND CULTURE: All courses in Consciousness-Based Education are taught in the local Mother Tongue to enliven the local Laws of Nature that gave rise to that language.

'In summary,' the Mother Divine administrator said, 'we have seen that we are in the possession of Total Knowledge and have the means to realize it. We have seen that there are many unique features of Consciousness-Based Education and the outcomes have been validated by scientific research.

'As we saw the International Foundation of Consciousness-Based Education for Mothers in Every Generation has already developed many of the materials that you need to start the process of establishing Invincibility Schools for Girls in your communities and Invincible Universities for your nation.

'Every mother needs Total Knowledge and by establishing Consciousness-Based Education in your country you can ensure that will be available for the mothers of every generation. With these few hints of the special values of the curriculum for mothers in every generation, we warmly invite you to join in the supremely fulfilling, bliss-filled, very essential activity of starting Consciousness-Based Education in your country.
