from the Maharishi Academy of Total Knowledge, article: Final Stages of $1 Million Renovation Project
18 December 2008
The fall season at Maharishi Academy of Total Knowledge, High School for Leadership, has been a colorful and exciting time in many ways—workers have covered every corner of campus with their trucks and equipment to renovate the buildings and improve the grounds.
Maharishi Academy is the first boarding school for boys (grades 9-12) in the United States to feature the Consciousness–Based Education (CBE) model of education. Consciousness-Based Education incorporates the Transcendental Meditation® program as well as teaching techniques for students’ optimal learning and growth.
Maharishi Academy specializes in:
• healthy, low-stress environment
• traditional college preparatory curriculum
• leadership training
• sustainable living program
• adventure education.
Under the inspiration of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the campus is planned in three phases. All new buildings will be constructed using the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture and will be energy efficient.
First phase: renovating the existing campus that allows up to 50 students to attend the Academy. Cost: $1 million.
Second phase: construction of two residence halls and a classroom/office building for up to 120 students Cost: $5.5 million.
Third phase: additional residence halls, classrooms, dining, recreation and office buildings and sports facilities for 400 students, Cost: $27 million.
Please let everyone know about this exciting opportunity for high school boys!
