The inauguration of Maharishi Vedic University was based on the knowledge of the Unified Field from both the objective approach of modern science and the subjective approach of Maharishi Vedic Science; the main points from this inauguration are published in his book Maharishi Speaks to Educators: Mastery over Natural
Law.

Maharishi said that he was inaugurating Maharishi Vedic University to provide knowledge of the Veda, pure knowledge, that level of intelligence at the unmanifest basis of creation, from which the entire creation is organized. 

Information Theory states that knowledge has organizing power. 'Veda is Total Knowledge,' Maharishi said, 'in which the total organizing power of Natural Law is inherent. The impulses of that basic intelligence of Cosmic Life become the different Laws of Nature, which then administer the activity of the whole universe.' 

The theoretical understanding and practical programmes offered at Maharishi Vedic University will make everyone competent to live the total organizing power of Nature and live in full accordance with all the Laws of Nature. 'Then at every inception of thought and at every stage of development of activity towards achievement, there will be full support of Natural Law, resulting in success,' Maharishi said. 

'All the different areas of Vedic Literature are so profoundly organized by tradition that nothing new needs to be done in order to structure a Vedic University. The theoretical knowledge of Natural Law and the practical applied value of that knowledge are already there in perfectly divided packages.' 

Maharishi said that the knowledge of Veda is organized like a tree: just as the total tree is contained in a seed, or in the first sprouting of a seed, or in the second stage of sprouting, there are different levels of elaboration of the totality of knowledge, Veda.  

'From point to infinity is the span of knowledge of Natural Law,' Maharishi explained. 'Therefore whatever time one has, one can gain total knowledge of Natural Law and thereby live the total potential of Natural Law. A short weekend course will give the total package of knowledge, and a further course will give a more elaborated version of that knowledge. 

'Whatever one's profession or responsibility, the totality of Natural Law must be enlivened in the intellect so that spontaneously one is capable of performing only evolutionary actions.' 

In Maharishi Vedic University, whatever isolated area one is studying, Total Knowledge will be available. Maharishi explained that the difficulty in the present system of education is that it takes the student deeply into one specialized channel of information. Too much isolation of knowledge naturally results in too much isolation of the organizing power of Nature in the student's possession. 

Charts have been developed to present the total knowledge of Natural Law as discovered through the objective approach of modern science and through the subjective approach of Maharishi Vedic Science. 

What modern science has discovered as the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature, Vedic Science has discovered with Transcendental Consciousness, the Self of everyone. 

Previous generations have been developing the knowledge of Natural Law through different disciplines of modern science and applying it to enrich life. 'With the recent discovery of the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature in Physics,  we declare "Eureka" for all mankind,' Maharishi said. 'The principles of the total value of Natural Law are now well documented, and the practical technology is available to enliven the total potential of Natural Law in our awareness—the Transcendental Meditation Technique, or Technology of the Unified Field.' 

Vedic Study will offer the knowledge of the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature as available through the different disciplines of Vedic Literature, 'which opens knowledge of the total range of life—from the far-reaching ends of the universe to the "I" within, the self-referral state of consciousness,' Maharishi continued. 'It locates the infinite range of knowledge and organizing power in seed form within man's own awareness.' 

At Maharishi Vedic University, along with the study of any area of Vedic Knowledge will be the study of the totality of Veda—the totality of pure knowledge and organizing power in Nature. This total perspective will enable the student to live the total potential of Natural Law in daily life. 

'The availability of the total potential of Natural Law on both levels—intellectual and experiential—will give a new basis to the life of the individual and society,' Maharishi said. 'When Nature supports the life of everyone, no thought or action will be wrong and there will be no basis for problems. New principles will guide life in every area.'
