A team of four business students from Maharishi University of Management recently placed third in an international business simulation competition.
The computerized simulation program used in the competition was also used in their recent course, and at many other institutions worldwide, as a learning tool that gives business students hands-on business management experience.

The student team competed against 169 other university teams including Drexel University, the University of Massachusetts, and Australia’s University of Technology. The six finalist teams competed in an intensified six rounds of decision-making on the last day of competition.

In the simulation each team runs a company manufacturing sensors. Team members make decisions in all the areas of management: research and design, marketing and distribution, production, budgeting, accounting, and finance.  The decisions are quantifiable and affect company profits.
