A new science: The Science of Creative Intelligence This explanation of the Science of Creative Intelligence is taken from Maharishi’s book Enlightenment and Invincibility: Maharishi’s Supreme Offer to the world, Every Individual, and to Every Nation. ‘In the Science of Creative Intelligence,’ Maharishi said, ‘we now have a new science of age-old life. We call it new because it provides a new name for the eternal reality of life—namely inner silence and outer activity. ‘It is a new theory of the old reality and is a complete science because it provides a practical technique to experience its truth. All sciences are new theories about the age-old and eternal realities of nature. The new thing is that now it is possible to live life established in a state of total coherence, where its inner and outer aspects are fully integrated. . . . ‘An educated man is one who habitually thinks right and acts right. Education, so far, has succeeded in producing skilled and professional people, but something is certainly lacking because these people are unable to live their own lives with enough skill to avoid suffering. ‘Children are taught the alphabet, and then taught how to combine separate letters to make words, to combine words to make sentences, and so on. But where is the source of the alphabet? This they are not taught. They are not taught anything about the deep level of intelligence that is the origin of everything and because of which words have meaning and communication becomes possible. This is a picture of ‘‘base-less’’ education. ‘The Science of Creative Intelligence provides knowledge of what intelligence is and how it creates.’ This gives education a basis, which can be known through Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation.
