Introducing Maharishi’s Science of Creative Intelligence in education to create an ideal society On 16 September 1976 in Seelisberg, Switzerland, Maharishi answered questions from educators. He said that the purpose of education is to inspire and to unfold the full potential of Creative Intelligence in the student. The Science of Creative Intelligence systematically unfolds the full value of the Creative Intelligence of the knower. Maharishi explained that the study of different disciplines does not unfold Creative Intelligence to its full value. The Science of Creative Intelligence provides the direct study of intelligence, which is the basis for the study of all disciplines. Scientific research has verified that the Transcendental Meditation Technique increases brainwave synchrony, broadens awareness, and at the same time develops the ability to focus sharply, leading to growth in intelligence and learning ability. ‘Intelligence is the basis of all branches of knowledge,’ Maharishi said. ‘Every discipline is structured in consciousness. If a student knows that pure intelligence is his own awareness, then he knows that every discipline is the projection of his own awareness. ‘When the field of pure intelligence is enlivened in the student’s awareness through the practice of Transcendental Meditation, he understands every field in terms of his own intelligence. On this basis he is easily able to relate one field of knowledge to another,’ Maharishi explained. When awareness opens to the home of all the Laws of Nature, the infinite potential of creativity becomes available, resulting in unrestricted progress in life. ‘When the field of all possibilities, the home of all the Laws of Nature, is lively in our awareness, activity will always be evolutionary and fulfilling,’ Maharishi said. ‘Problems will not arise, because problems arise from weakness, and in the evolutionary direction there is no weakness.’ Maharishi then pointed out that the relationship of the student and teacher is a tender bond of love. ‘When the flow of knowledge between them is not restricted by stress, worries, and anxieties, then both rise to wisdom together. ‘The world is as we are; what we find around us depends on our level of consciousness, and on that depends our relationship with the environment. If our awareness is established in pure consciousness, everything that reflects in our consciousness will have the values of happiness, love, and evolution,’ Maharishi said. ‘If the flow of one’s consciousness is evolutionary, one always inspires evolutionary influences in every direction.’ All behaviour is for the sake of enriching one’s individual life and the lives of others. ‘The only means to ensure beautiful social behaviour is to make the individual spontaneously evolutionary by opening his awareness to the home of all the Laws of Nature,’ Maharishi continued. ‘The natural tendency of the mind is to move in the direction of greater happiness and achievement. In creating unboundedness, infinity, the mind is fulfilled, and a fulfilled man is always a joy to the environment.’ When one per cent of the community of any school is practising Transcendental Meditation, harmony and positivity increase in the school environment.
