On 8 July 1982 in Seelisberg, Switzerland, Maharishi defined Natural Law in terms of the total potential of life. He said it is that Cosmic Intelligence through which fullness of life manifests.
Maharishi's teaching about Natural Law gives thorough knowledge of all approaches to fullness of life from every possible angle. 'All the streams of life take life to the ocean of Natural Law, which is unboundedness, infinity, immortality, and bliss,' he said.
The common element in all disciplines is the fullness of life, the full potential of Natural Law. 'Every channel of knowledge will take the student to the full potential of Natural Law experienced in terms of his own Self,' Maharishi said. 'This will result in complete mastery over Natural Law.'
The universities established by Maharishi offer the fruit of all knowledge—all knowledge in terms of the Self. This will create a universal individual at home with all fields of life.
Maharishi's knowledge of Natural Law presents knowledge of the full range of life, both subjective and objective. 'Through this holistic knowledge the student will experience how Natural Law, functioning within itself, creates all the different levels of creation.
'The natural focus of life is on the Self,' Maharishi continued. 'Whatever one does is always for the sake of oneself. [The knowledge of Natural Law] unfolds the reality of one's unbounded Self and shows that the whole field of the known is nothing other than the impulse of the knower, the Self.'
By unfolding the full potential of the Self, all possibilities is enlivened in the awareness of the student. The practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme cultures the ability in consciousness to create anything from within itself.
'The purpose of Natural Law is that the individual successfully fulfils his own interest without jeopardizing the interest of others. When individuals begin to function spontaneously in accordance with Natural Law, they will act in perfect accordance with national law, no matter what the system of administration.
'The pure expression of Natural Law is the infinite state of non-change, perfect order, which maintains itself even when subject to change,' Maharishi said. 'This is just the expression of absolute order being maintained eternally in the unmanifest field.
'When awareness is open to the unmanifest field of non-change—the Self—one finds the whole field of change as the expression of non-change. In this state the experiencer finds himself as the source and goal of all change, and this is the fulfilment of knowledge.'
This talk is published in Maharishi's book Maharishi Speaks to Students: Mastery over Natural Law.
