On September 1982 in Seelisberg, Switzerland, Maharishi held an international conference on education. At this conference Maharishi explained that the Science of Creative Intelligence provides an integrated science of life, bringing together the objective approach of modern science and the subjective approach of Vedic Science.
Along with the complete theoretical understanding of Natural Law, the Science of Creative Intelligence offers the technology of consciousness—Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme—to unfold the full creative potential of Natural Law in individual awareness.
'The purpose of education is to make a man at least capable to not making mistakes, and at best competent to accomplish all his desires,' Maharishi said. 'An educated individual should have the ability to act spontaneously in perfect accord with all the Laws of Nature, and for this it is necessary that education provides both knowledge and experience of the full potential of Natural Law.'
The full potential of Natural Law is the Cosmic Intelligence that is administering the infinite variety of the universe in the most orderly, automatic, and perfect way. When one lives life according to Natural Law, one has at one's disposal the intelligence that is managing the entire Cosmic Life.
'Every aspect of individual and Cosmic Life is just an expression of intelligence—that Cosmic Intelligence, the full potential of Natural Law, which creates and maintains everything from infinity to a point. Since Natural Law is the reality of life, it must be simple and most effortless to gain the knowledge and live the experience of the full potential of Natural Law in daily life,' Maharishi said.
'Education will be fulfilled when it has the ability to connect the point value of the individual with the infinite value of his existence—to connect individual intelligence with the ocean of Cosmic Intelligence. Individual and Cosmic Intelligence are already most intimate to one another; education has just to open the awareness to that which already exists.'
Maharishi explained that Vedic Science locates the totality of Natural Law in the Self, the 'I' of the individual, which is the same as the 'I' of the universe. This is why it is completely simple to awaken the full potential of Natural Law in individual awareness.
Until now education provided only fragmented knowledge of Natural Law through the different disciplines of modern science. 'Our integrated system of education will deliver the fruit of all knowledge to everyone: enlivenment of the infinite value of Natural Law in the individual,' Maharishi continued.
'Through this ideal education, every individual will be a cosmic individual, living the Vedic Reality Aham Brahmasmi, "I am the Totality." This is the realization of one's infinite creative potential, on the basis of which one lives spontaneously in accordance with Natural Law and enjoys all possibilities in daily life.'
Maharishi's integrated system of education offers objective knowledge of Natural Law through the different disciplines of modern science, and this study is enriched at every stage through the subjective approach to knowledge—the technology of consciousness—the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
'When education is so enriching, every student will naturally be attracted to school, because the process of gaining knowledge ends in bubbles of bliss,' Maharishi said.
'This integrated system of education will eliminate all problems of the individual and society. The cause of all problems is the violation of the Laws of Nature by the whole population of the world.'
The knowledge and experience of Natural Law will enable every individual to live life in accordance with Natural Law, free from problems and suffering.
'Know that by knowing which everything is known,' Maharishi continued. 'Through the Science of Creative Intelligence it is possible to know the field of pure knowledge, pure intelligence structured within one's consciousness, and thereby gain the totality of knowledge by which everything in creation can be known and governed.
To own the totality of Natural Law it is only necessary for consciousness to know itself fully within itself. When consciousness knows itself as the full potential of Natural Law, then action is spontaneously in accordance with all the Laws of Nature.
