Eero Tunkelo, Director of Student Activities at Maharishi University of Management, is an MBA internship student from Finland. He is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing student events such as celebrations, concerts, bus trips, film screenings, and dance parties.
Eero brings his organizing skills from a variety of executive job experiences. After receiving a dual degree from MUM in Mathematics and in the Science of Creative Intelligence in 2000, he worked as senior technology consultant and project manager at Nokia, and as chief technology officer at start-up and mid-size companies. He also started his own companies—building internet businesses and providing coaching, marketing, information management technology, and sustainable heating solutions.
Eero also taught the Transcendental Meditation technique in Finland and always missed the group practice of the TM and the TM-Sidhi programs including Yogic Flying at MUM. “You want efficiency out of every moment of you life,” Eero says, ”and in terms of enlightenment and personal development the time spent in the dome is the most efficient.”
In 2008 he returned to MUM to utilize his organizing skills for the benefit of the students. “I like to use my managerial skills to bring out the best of others,” says Eero. “There is such a great pool of talent at MUM and it’s fulfilling to see that expressed at University events.”
Eero would like to develop the Department of Student Activities into a professional event-management organization. His experience in organization building and management gives him an advantage. “It’s not only about efficiency.” he says, “it’s also about making the path enjoyable.”
