Science Team Honored in National Science Competition
Three Maharishi School students won honorable mention for their project about breast cancer detection in a national science competition that had 4,550 project entries submitted online. The award places the team’s project among the top 10% of all entries.
Now in its 18th year, Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision is a science competition that encourages K-12 students to create and explore a vision of future technology by combining their imaginations with the tools of science.
The team, Pearl Sawhney, Minna Mohammadi, and Yogita Singh, explored an innovative alternative breast cancer detection and treatment method using nanorobotics (microscopic robots).
“These students were very dedicated and focused,” said science teacher and team sponsor Mousumi Dey, M.D.
