The 7 Secrets of World Class Athletes, a new book by Maharishi University of Management alumnus Steven Yellin and Fairfield resident Buddy Biancalana, offers a cutting-edge program for athletes to reach their highest level of performance and play in the zone.

The book describes how world-class athletes experience mental freedom along with the ability to consistently shut down the highly-discriminating intellect and activate the fast-twitch muscles that lead to fluid, powerful, effortless motion. “The secret of secrets is in that arena of silence before the motion starts,” said Mr. Yellin. “If the correct arena is formed, then the zone can knock on your door more often.”

Steven Yellin is a former Florida High School State Tennis Champion as well as a tennis and golf instructor who had a spontaneous zone experience early in his tennis career. For the past 35 years, he has been studying motion from every conceivable angle and has developed drills and concepts that enable athletes to recreate that experience.

“Without the experience of the Transcendental Meditation technique, our program never would have developed in its present form,” said Mr. Yellin. “By understanding the subtle nature of the mind, from a very deep and profound level, you can understand how the mind affects the body.”

In 2005, Mr. Yellin founded PMPM Sports with Buddy Biancalana, the starting shortstop for the Kansas City Royals, 1985 Word Series champions. They have tested the techniques described in the book on amateur and professional golfers, basketball players, baseball players, and tennis players with great results.

“One of the best books I have read in years,” said John Lyberger, Director of Golf at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, home to the 2011 US Open golf. “It gets you to understand the mind-body connection. This book unlocks the secrets of how to think in the subconscious, where you can perform at your highest effective level no matter what the sport of choice is.".
