Students on becoming teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Technique "This new wave of interest in the Transcendental Meditation technique now offers graduates a very specific career path," said Dr. Fred Travis, Chair of the Department of Maharishi Vedic Science. Becoming a teacher has long been an option in the curriculum and the Teacher Training Course is now being offered on a regular basis, making it easier for students to plan to take it as part of their degree program. According to Dr. Travis, many of the 20 graduate students in Maharishi Vedic Science are planning to become teachers of the Transcendental Meditation technique. “I see the Teacher Training Course as the culmination of the knowledge and foundation I've gained in Maharishi Vedic Science,” said Ph.D. student Brandy C. Lee-Jacob, “and as an outlet for me to share with others the great joy and sense of purpose I've experienced in life as a result of my TM practice along with the wisdom of the Vedic Tradition.” Puki Freeberg, a 2009 graduate, who recently completed the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course (TTC) in Bulgaria, has already taught several new MUM students, and is headed to Los Angeles to work with the David Lynch Foundation and teach children to meditate. “I am very happy and grateful to have done TTC at this time,” said Puki. “I feel my education is truly complete and that I am really starting my life on the highest level with the knowledge and experience I gained on the course.” The next Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course will be offered in North America from June 28 to November 15, 2010. © Copyright 2010, Maharishi University of Management
