The Transcendental Meditation Technique, as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, allows the mind to settle down to the ‘source of thought,’ to experience pure consciousness—a state of deeply restful alertness, in which the mind is fully awake while the body gains a state of rest that has been shown to be deeper than deep sleep.

The Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme was brought to light by Maharishi from a section of the Vedic Literature, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Scientific research has shown that the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including the technique called Yogic Flying, accelerates the personal growth that comes with the Transcendental Meditation Technique by itself: faster growth of creativity, learning ability, physical health, happiness, and psychological well-being.

Yogic Flying was introduced in 1976 by Maharishi, the world’s foremost scientist of consciousness, who brought to light the knowledge of India’s ancient Vedic tradition. Yogic Flying is a natural extension of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, which Maharishi introduced in the mid-1950s, and which has become the most widely practised and thoroughly researched programme of self-development in the world.

Extensive published research demonstrates that Yogic Flying offers striking practical benefits. For example, scientists have observed remarkable changes in the way the brain functions. During Yogic Flying, brain functioning becomes highly orderly and coherent—with maximum coherence at the point of liftoff. This indicates that the brain is functioning more powerfully, with greater access to its total potential.

The twice-daily programme of Yogic Flying can be practised by oneself in one’s own home.
