Speaking candidly, students at the Maharishi School in England described their experiences of the Transcendental Meditation Technique and the effect it has had on their lives—from increased relaxation to greater creative expression.
‘I’ve always drawn, ever since I was . . . well, ever since I could draw, which was quite early,’ said a young man. ‘[TM] definitely frees and relaxes the mind. I think one of the greatest things is relaxing and opening up to see what the world is, and to be comfortable. . . . TM is ideal for that, because it allows you to let go.’
An expressive young lady described her experience: ‘I find that meditation helps a lot with dancing.’ She notices that TM has improved her choreography and poetry writing. ‘I’m a lot more creative.’
She added, ‘If I’ve had a stressful or busy day, I find that if I come home and do my meditation, afterward I feel much more relaxed and refreshed.’
‘It’s like a miracle!’ said another young woman about the Transcendental Meditation Technique. She went on to explain, ‘I wasn’t practising regularly at the beginning just because I was too busy with other things and I thought that it’s not really important, you know. But after I started practising regularly I could feel it—like good things are happening, things fall into place, and I’m more creative. I can think better. I’m more aware of everything, and I can make decisions better.’
