The Maharishi University of Management running club continues to rack up medals, most recently winning the overall medal at a race in Washington, Iowa, and three medals in the Lacey-Keosauqua run.
In the 5k Memorial Walk Run held in Washington, student Vinodthan Nayagar was the overall winner with a time of 20:41. Club coach Pete Mannisi finished second in 20:48.
"Vinodthan really ran well," Mr. Mannisi said. "There were three of us together at the halfway turnaround in 10:25. Vinodthan ran the second half nine seconds faster than the first half."
Seven club members competed in the challenging hilly Lacey-Keosauqua 5K course, with coach Mannisi taking first place in the 50-64 division in a time of 21:06, Nico D'wbac taking second place in the 15-19 division in a time of 21:01, and Simon Rodriguez taking second in the 50-64 division with a time of 30:03.
Other runners competing included Jackie Lopez, Rick Dunstan, and Ben Gare, while Matthew Lindberg-Work took part in the two-mile trail walk.
