Dr. Jane Schmidt-Wilk, who has been attending the conference since the mid ’90s, was happy that MUM will be presenting in three different divisions and in two all-academy themes this year.
Dr. Heaton presented a paper titled "Maharishi on Management: Transcending, Balancing, Enlightening, and Harmonizing", was a panelist on a workshop on sustainability in management education, and was a presenter in a workshop on educating managers about integrity along with Ph.D. student Ravi Subramaniam.

A group of Maharishi University of Management faculty members presented papers this summer at the annual conference of the Academy of Management in San Antonio, with the theme this year being "West Meets East: Enlightening, Balancing, and Transcending."
The Academy is the oldest and largest scholarly management association, with 18,000 members from 103 countries—and about 10,000 of those attending the conference.
"This year's theme was a wonderful indication of the growing appreciation for more profound systems of education and ways to develop managers for organizations," said David DuBois, who helped organize symposia offered by the faculty.
Those attending included Dr. Dennis Heaton, Dr. Jane Schmidt-Wilk, Dr. Scott Herriott, Vicki Alexander Herriott, Dr. Fred Travis, and adjunct faculty Harald Harung, as well as former faculty Cathy DuBois.
They participated in symposia titled "Education for Enlightenment: The Implications of Consciousness for Managerial Development" and "Transcending and Peak Executive Performance: Management Insight from the East."
Also on the program were presentations by Dr. Heaton on Maharishi's insights on management, sustainability in management education, and educating managers about integrity.
"It's a huge step forward in the visibility of the University and our academic work," Dr. Schmidt-Wilk said.
