The response to last summer's 12-day "Experience the Self" course at Maharishi University of Management for visitors has been so positive that two more events are being planned: one in March to coincide with spring break at universities nationwide and one in July.
Part of the impetus comes from those who attended and want to return said Adrienne Schoenfeld, director of the Department of Outreach and course organizer. Twelve want to come again and bring their friends, family, business associates, fellow teachers, and local school administrators.
The courses will be eight days and will run from March 16-24 and July 27-August 4. In addition, an educators conference will be held August 1-3 as part of the summer course.
"We continue to get inspiring emails from the group that attended last summer," Ms. Schoenfeld said. "Many felt it was a life-changing experience."
A mother of two young children recently wrote in an email, "I am still in awe at how amazing I feel. This is officially the longest I have gone without being sick with my auto-immune disorder . . . . I am beyond grateful for the Transcendental Meditation technique and every day that I have to physically, mentally, and spiritually enjoy this life. Thank you for this course."
As last summer, the forthcoming courses will offer participants the opportunity to learn the Transcendental Meditation technique, or an advanced technique if they've already learned the Transcendental Meditation technique.
Some of last year's participants will be returning to receive an advanced technique as part of the requirement to learn the TM-Sidhi program.
In addition, the event will again feature opportunities to learn Maharishi Yoga asanas, Maharishi Self-Pulse diagnosis, Sanskrit, and other specialized knowledge. Also planned will be many recreational opportunities, recorded talks by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, tours, and evening entertainment.
"Many felt that this was a perfect way to learn the Transcendental Meditation technique, because they were immersed in this knowledge," Ms. Schoenfeld said. "They want their families to have the same experience here in this environment."
She said that the March course will be ideal for current MUM students to invite their friends to visit and experience the campus while class is in session.
According to Imogen Webber, project manager, these events are also excellent for school administrators who want to experience the Transcendental Meditation technique and learn more about Consciousness-Based education and the popular Quiet Time Program that's being introduced in schools worldwide.
