A new Maharishi University of Management (MUM) course recently available online includes a course on narrative taught by BBC documentary filmmaker Stuart Tanner.
Mr. Tanner's course, "Narrative-Based Creative Storytelling," explores the key elements of storytelling, including character, plot, and narrative themes. It uses exercises to help students improve their writing by applying the fundamental principles of narrative.
The course is suited to filmmakers, journalists, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers.
Mr. Tanner, a senior television producer/director who honed his storytelling skills as a broadcast journalist and filmmaker of high-profile documentaries for the BBC, has won several awards for his work.
New students can join at any time.

How the TM practice helps
With an assist from the practice of Transcendental Meditation, one will gain greater access to their creative stores. When one reachs down to their deep inner core in meditation, a universe of possibilities opens up. Students find they can collaborate quickly and at very deep levels with peers. We're continually amazed at the speed with which our students make alliances and work together harmoniously and enjoyably. You can be a part of it, too.
In fact, many of the creative and artistic teams and alliances that made here at MUM will continue throughout one's career or even become one's career. When you practice the TM program, you all bring your creativity, enthusiasm, insights and broadened perspectives to the table, not fatigue, stress and limitations. That is typically very dynamic, supportive, creative and productive. We see that every single day, and so can you.
