This past summer the president and the treasurer of the World Association of Vedic Studies visited Maharishi University of Management (MUM) to meet with faculty and learn more about Maharishi Vedic Science.
The association is a multidisciplinary academic society that provides a forum for scholarly activities and views on all areas of Vedic Studies, and encompasses all that applies to traditions commonly called Vedic.
Of particular interest during the visit, which was organized by Candace Badgett, was the grant-funded project headed by visiting faculty member Peter Scharf and former faculty Ralph Bunker to create a Sanskrit database of all the Vedic literature.
The association also offers the leading international conference on Vedic studies. This conference will be held at MUM next summer, with about 80 scholars expected to come.
According to David Scharf, who was among those who hosted the visitors, the president of the association, Sashi Kejriwal, was so impressed that he intends to make a donation to MUM.
