Zach Sluser graduated from Maharishi School in 1999, received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2003, and now lives in Los Angeles pursuing a career as a director.

In May, Zachary Sluser, a Maharishi School alumnus and former MUM student, began filming The Driftless Area, a romantic drama featuring actors Aubrey Plaza, Anton Yelchin, Zooey Deschanel, John Hawkes, and Frank Langella.
The film is an adaptation of a novel by Tom Drury. Mr. Sluser co-wrote the screenplay with Mr. Drury and is also directing the film, which is being shot in Vancouver.
The movie is about a young bartender who falls in love with a mysterious woman. However, things get complicated when he gets involved with a dangerous crook and some stolen money.
The movie is being produced by Keith Kjarval of Unified Pictures and Aaron L. Gilbert through Bron Studios in association with CW Media Finance. The executive producer is Nicole Romano of Anonymous Content.
