Maharishi University of Management's China connection continues to grow, with a new partner in Taiwan tentatively planning to begin sending students next year. In addition, a group from Beijing Union University is tentatively scheduled to enroll for a semester this fall.
Nanhua University, MUM's new partner in Taiwan, is particularly interested in sending students to take courses in the Sustainable Living department.
Officials from Nanhua University will be visiting MUM April 18–May 10 to discuss setting up a formal exchange in which students will come for one, two, or three blocks, or for a whole year.
Nanhua University was founded by a Buddhist monk and has an enrollment of 5,500 students.
The students tentatively scheduled to arrive this fall from Beijing Union University will be the first official exchange between the two universities, who signed a collaboration agreement early last year.
BUU has 30,000 students, including 1,000 foreign students, and 1,800 faculty among 13 campuses in Beijing.
MUM is now partnering with six Chinese universities. Faculty member Greg Guthrie and administrator Elaine Guthrie have recently been traveling in China to meet with partner institutions and prospective students.
"We're pleased to be getting such a strong interest in Consciousness-Based education, and we look forward to hosting more Chinese students," said Bill Goldstein, director of MUM's international expansion.
