An article in The Times of India on January 29, 2015, stated that "Maharishi Vidya Mandir students win Times Science Quiz."

The article from Chennai reported, "Vishnu Kamath and V Visrudh from Maharishi Vidya Mandir won the fourth edition of the Times Science Quiz, conducted by The Times of India in Association with Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Group at Chinmaya Heritage Centre here on Thursday."

Over a 1,000 students from 120 schools across Chennai took part in the quiz.
