As a result of the growth of the Maharishi University of Management (MUM) Department of Business Administration over the past decade, the department has now been elevated to a college within the University by President Dr. Bevan Morris and the Academic Planning Council.
Scott Herriott has been appointed dean of the college.
The new College of Business Administration will include two departments: a Department of Management and a Department of Accounting.
"We're pleased with the growth of the management and accounting programs, and this new organization will help us to continue to deliver a quality education to all of our constituencies," Dr. Herriott said. "The growth of our program in Africa and our accounting MBA have been especially significant."
The Department of Management will be chaired by Vicki Alexander, JD, LLM. Its 11 full-time faculty will teach BA programs for Fairfield and South Africa, the daytime and evening-weekend/online MBA, the PhD program, and graduate certificate programs in management information systems and lean higher education administration.
The Department of Accounting will be chaired by Andrew Bargerstock, PhD, CPA. Its four full-time faculty serve the Accounting Professionals MBA program, the accounting track in the standard MBA program, and the graduate certificate in lean accounting.
The college is supported by 10 doctoral students as graduate instructors, 10 part-time faculty, and five staff.
