The nursing profession has a problem: Millions of us, charged with taking care of the nation’s people, come to work chronically fatigued. Studies have shown that 30% of new graduate RN’s leave bedside nursing in the first year, and 57% leave in the second year. Not only does fatigue impact our work life, it also affects our life outside of work—our time spent with family, friends, and ourselves! We all want to have more energy and happiness and to enjoy our professional and personal lives more.

To reduce fatigue and burnout, you must not only have mental and physical rest, you must also build resilience.

The Transcendental Meditation technique is a great way for you to reduce fatigue, build resilience, renew compassion and reconnect with the profession you love. Among many benefits, hundreds of published peer-reviewed studies show that the TM technique:

Information About the Course

Partnering with the ANA’s Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation campaign

TM for Nurses is proud to be working with the American Nurses Association and the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation campaign to bring about healthy changes in the nursing community. The Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation campaign encourages you to put your health first by concentrating on a holistic approach to wellness. The Transcendental Meditation technique should be a key component of that approach.

We become nurses with a genuine desire to help others, but the stress of the profession lowers our resilience and makes us vulnerable to compassion fatigue and burnout. Statistics show that over 40 percent of hospital staff experience burnout.

To combat this burnout, we must focus on building resilience—and that’s where the Transcendental Meditation program comes in. By teaching them the TM practice, we are building teams of resilient and fulfilled nurses in hospitals around the country.
