Former Maharishi University of Management (MUM) vice-president Steven Druker, who was a professor of law and government, was honored last year with the Luxembourg Peace Prize for outstanding work on behalf of the environment—the first time such a prize was awarded in that category.
He received the award at a ceremony in the former meeting hall of the European Parliament.
The Luxembourg Peace Prize is a joint Prize awarded by the World Peace Forum, the World Peace Senate, and the Schengen Peace Foundation, approved by His Majesty the Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg.
Mr. Druker was recognized for bringing worldwide attention to the dangers of genetically modified food through his book Altered Genes, Twisted Truth, his lectures, and other activities.
His many recent presentations include the Commonwealth Club of California, the Silicon Valley Health Institute, the Genetic Engineering and Society Center at North Carolina State University, and the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Indiana University.
